Good news for a dying world
Sunday, July 24, 2011
Let's meditate on God's word! (:
- Be sensitive to the holy spirit.
Practical application: Make time to talk to god everyday! Be it 5 min, 10 min, MAKE TIME!
Then, keep silent to listen to what God says.
- Be well versed with scriptures!
Practical application: Read a few chapters of the bible daily! Memorize God's word!
- Be trained to share the good news!
So why share the good news?
1. People are still God's method of reaching out. YOU MIGHT BE THE ONLY CHRISTIAN SOME PEOPLE MIGHT EVER MEET. Share!
2. People are seeking for the true and living God. People need the Lord!
More applications! :D
1. Start praying for friends! Name them out (:
2. Cultivate friendships with your friends! Show that Christ is in you and you love them!
3. Live your life as a Christian!
4. Be alert to opportunities!
5. Learn how to share the gospel.
Yes, sometimes it is not easy to step out of our comfort zone. It's NEVER easy. But with God's strength, we can do it! Let's keep one another in our prayers!
Next week is our Gospel Sunday, if there are any friends you would like us to pray for, do leave their names down in the comments box!
May God bless you!
Amen.

Have you said Thanks today?
Saturday, July 23, 2011
'Then he said to him, "Rise and go; your faith has made you well".'
- Luke 17: 19
Jesus Heals Ten Men With Leprosy
11 Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy[b] met him. They stood at a distance 13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”
14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.
15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.
17 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” 19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”

I remember the advertisement quite clearly, "Have you drank your yakult today?" Haha.
But let's have another reminder. "Have you said Thanks today?" Thanks to who? To God!
Maybe some of you have heard those verses before. Isn't it a good reminder to us? When things finally go well, sometimes, we tend to forget, "Aha! Thank you God!"
Did God heal you today? Did He helped you in any way? Do remember to say ....... Thank you! (:
If you don't recall any incidents, just remember: Christ died on the cross for you and I. He loved us this much (opening His arms).
For this, God deserves our THANKS eternally.
Dear God, we thank you for EVERY single thing that's happening to us. We know that you love us. We did not deserve anything, but you showed your love to us by taking up all our sins on that cross. Nothing we do deserve it. We just want to give thanks and praise to you God! (:
Amen.

Are you ready?
Thursday, July 21, 2011
THIS IS GOING TO BE VERY SHORT. SO IT'S IN MY PRAYER THAT YOU WILL FINISH READING (:
"I tell you on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left."
- Luke 17:34
Are you ready for Christ's return? Not the person beside you. I meant YOU!
What will you be doing on the day of Christ's return? Are you ready to meet Christ and account for your life spent? The day will come when we are most unexpected! Do keep watch! Have we lived in Faith? Or are we concentrating on what's not eternal? Of course the current stuff is important! But don't forget, the things up there are way and far more important!
There was this period I was really focused on my examinations. And I would skip church because I felt that I "didn't" have time to finish studying. But there was once that I made this decision to come church even though O' Levels was the following day. I remembered Sister Kawai's encouragement. (Thankyou so much! (: ) She said something like, "Leave it into God's hands because all your results are given by God no matter what." It really encouraged me a lot. Leave it into God's hands because He knows everything! I came to church and God found ways to console/ comfort/ encourage me. Isn't He great? (:
Dear Lord, may we continue to focus on you and what's eternal. God, we pray that you will give us the wisdom to do things of your will.
Amen.

Money or God?
Wednesday, July 20, 2011
"No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money." Luke 16:13
So money or God? Everytime when it comes to offering, there's a struggle.
Inner thought: Huh.. Give God my $10?! Then next week I can't eat good food, or I won't have enough money to go shopping/ or I won't have enough for my allowance! How?????????? Howwwwwwwwwwww.
But, do you actually believe that God provides? I remembered there was this week where I was suffering from some cash flow problems because I overspent on something. I admit I did struggle. (It was my bad ): ) However, there was this inner stirring in me to offer back in faith. And so, I said a short prayer and I did.
I was like, OH MAN, no lunch in school next week. Haiz.
But but, the following day, my mum offered to help me pay a bit for driving lessons, enough for me to tide through my personal "financial crisis".
Isn't God amazing? Sometimes, you don't even have to ask. You just have to trust in Him.
Then again, do ask God when in need because He cares so much for us!
Keep having faith! (:
God bless!
Dear God, we trust that you will provide everything we need. Lord, we just pray that we will look upon you and offer back in faith.
In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.

How much fire do YOU have?
Tuesday, July 19, 2011
In my semi-half awake state, I overhead this conversation somewhere near me. I felt it was quite interesting! So I decided to share! Promise to read on& I'll promise to keep it short and sweet :D
I shall name the people 'A' and 'B'.
A: I bet I know more Christian stuff than you do. How much fire do you have for church? It used to be 100% right?
B: Yeah, but now maybe say "30%"?
A: Oh, so you are those go church and hi, bye! kind?
B: Yeah.
A: Wait for judgement day then repent loh
B: Can meh?
A: Can!
(The conversation was roughly like that, I was in a half-asleep mode remember? ;) )
But their conversation just struck me. In the beginning, we are 100% fire, filled with zeal, ready to serve, lead or anything. But as time goes by, the fire might get lesser to 30% and we just go church for merely hi! bye! or even reaches to 0%, where we totally lost the fire. Is that happening?
Let's help one another& never let this fire die down!
Keep praying for one another! (:
Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that you will ignite the flame in brothers and sisters' heart that they will once again be filled with the love and zeal for you.
Amen.
- What do you think about their conversation? Share your thoughts in the 'SHARING' comment box! (: God bless you!
