Merry X'mas to all! Greetings to all of u.

This blog post is dedicated to those who will be attending the church anniversary lunch. There are a few things to note for this event as we will be having our song presentation, Give Thanks:

1) wear light-coloured top, preferably white or light yellow in colour. Since we are singing 'Give Thanks', we ought to be joyful, thus the cheerful colour.

2) memorise the lyrics of 'Give Thanks' in all three languages. this is requested by the committee, since it doesnt look nice on stage if we keep our heads down, reading off the song sheet throughout the whole song.

3) song arrangement will be singing the cantonese version first, followed by mandarin, then english. Some ppl told me they are not familiar with cantonese/mandarin version of Give Thanks, so i attached the youtube vids (see previous blog post). I've also changed the song scores (link to download) too. This is the link to the edited music that will be played that day (link to download mp3) Due to limit of song, there'll be a slight change in the song arrangement. Here is the final lyrics:

4) there will be a walk-in and decor part. more details below:

There are feedbacks saying that 'Give Thanks' song presentation by English congregation is too dry/dull, so we will be adding in something special, hoping that it will be more 'exciting'. >.<

so for the presentation, we will be walking in from the back (entrance to restaurant) and to the stage (see fig 1 below). Once the music start, we'll start walking in. so we will singing as we walk up the stage and pasting little cards/papers that will be given to u.

On the stage, there will be a large cardboard. we will be pasting/slipping in little coloured cards/papers on this large cardboard, forming the word 'Give Thanks' (see fig 2 below). the coloured cards/papers will be passed to you all that day. And so when you reach the stage, you will have to paste/slip in the cards u have on your hand to the board according to colours randomly (so that the word will not form out so fast). Note that we should still be singing while doing all these.

after pasting the cards, we will continue to stand on the stage and finish the remaining part of the song. and probably we might do a formation at the end. this will depends whether we can have rehearsal before the actual presentation. so we shall see.

Can you all reach earlier that day to have a walk though for the song presentation? i will let you all know the timing later.

sorry for all these last minute notices. let's cooperate and do this well, ok?
