Life Concert 2010
Friday, April 2, 2010
it seems to be a long time since i last posted anything, both here and at my own blog, which is pretty dead if any of you have been visiting.
anyway, life concert is an annual concert held by my school in collaboration with Good Friday and Easter. so you have guessed it right if you are wondering if it has anything to do with these 2 festive days. it's actually like our concert held on 6th feb, only its on a larger scale, something like what you would see in city harvest i guess, to spread God's love via a platform where youths would be attracted to.
this year's theme is on LOSTFOUND. do you find yourself indulging too much on earthly desires that you find that your relationship with God is detoriating? do you submerge yourself in the sea of shopping, technology or even friends? if so, you might need a GPS, God Positioning System, to find your way back to him.
indeed, with A levels coming up in 8months time, i really find myself caught up in my studies, cca and even church ministry. people always tell me to cut down on my church ministry for the time being because studies should by my top priority for the time being (it should be every student's). yes i will. in fact i have already stopped choir, coming down from my EXCO position in june, or at least find a temporary replacement if nobody wants take up seriously for the next term, and i might even request to stop leading worship and children from june onwards! but this does not mean that studies should take up ALL my time.
i still need to spend time to read God's words. the busier i get, i should actually refer back to God even more in case i get LOST and let Satan triumphs. i guess i am FOUND in this way.
yesterday's songs really touched me. i used to find it weird to sing with your hands raised up in the air and pray suddenly. it WOULD feel weird if those did not happen last night.
don't worry, i am not turning charismatic nor did i speak in some random tongue. it just seems that when i sang, it felt weird if my hands were put in Sedia or Senang diri position (jeff or those who went for NS should know what i mean).
hand gestures, in my opinion, comes kinda natural if you really indulge yourselves in those songs, just like how those artistes showed it on stage. then when i prayed, i just made a silent prayer in response to those songs that really touched my heart. was it God talking to me last night? telling me to go back to Him? probably.
now let us not dwell so much on the highly debatable worship style that is so different from our usual ones. it was a concert after all and seriously, Love Turned A Page concert is so small and insignificant compared to that (even Rev Lee thought that the atmosphere was not HIGH enough).
however, let us not be discouraged for it was the best we could do during that time and thus we shall do a better one in the future. furthermore, our job is only to plant the seed in the hearts of unbelievers. it is ultimately up to God to nurture them and let them grow. if our concert was insignificant to Life Concert, then Life Concert is nothing compared to what God can do.

oops, i seem to have squeezed to many points in here and i have no idea how to end. GP is gone case!

let us go back LOSTFOUND shall we? so in conclusion, let us remember that God will never forsake nor forget us. remember how that shepherd left his 99 sheep to find that 1 LOST sheep? are you that 1 LOST sheep? God is calling out to you, let us return to Him.

Chris

ps: i dunno what you guys might think after reading this cos it does sound kinda new age...
