Hello :D I just want to encourage and thank brothers and sisters that are serving the Lord.
14th April's daily bread topic is on "Unseen Workers"
When I read it, I find it very related to what some might be feeling. It talks about people serving but not getting the recognition. Instead sometimes, others may get the recognition for what you have been doing.
Just want to remind everyone that whenever you are tired after serving, remember that God knows!
"so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees that is done in secret, will reward you." Matthew 6:4
Therefore, don't worry! Serve Him with all your heart! ♥
"Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord." Romans 12:11

God is always there for you
Wednesday, April 7, 2010

Hiu Tung here. Just a short song sharing. This song is called Still, a song that I learnt when I was in secondary school.

The school I attended was a Methodist school and we had chapel sessions twice every week. At first, I really didn't like having the chapel sessions as we have to spend one whole hour listening to the pastor drone on and on about his message and sing songs and all. Even though I had just joined the school choir as CCA, singing was not something that I held any particular interest in. Listening to the pastor talk held even less interest for me. Indeed, chapel sessions are to the point of being chores to me. However, that all changed. There was once when I was feeling really down and I had to sit through another session of chapel. However, that session was different from the rest. The pastor's message just seemed to be addressing me. The songs seemed like an encouragement to me. At that chapel session, I just felt really close to God as if He was talking to me. From then on, chapel sessions held a totally different meaning for me.

Have you had times when you were feeling down and you felt that no one was there for you or that no one just seemed to understand you? If you did, think back again and I am sure you will find that God was there for you and was there to help you walk out of it.

Tony's Sharing

Hello, everybody in the church, this is my first time posting in this church blog. It took me lots of days thinking about how to start my first post. First, I should give those who posted before me a round of applause, is them who given me the drive to start posting.

So let me start writing about myself, how I started my service in church. It is not something; like one fine day a high beam shot onto me and tells me to serve in church.

Actually it started quite silly, haha, it is where I, myself, personally felt that God needed me to work out in the church bonding.*At this point of time I already accepted Christ.* This is because when I first join the church I don’t have the feeling like a church, everybody just come and by, nobody really want to know how I feel. But strangely they will ask me to come back. Isn’t this a something funny??

In the servicing journey, I made a lot of mistakes; this is because wanting to help out in the church bonding is just my own will. So now you will ask “what is my purpose?” well that is simple I just wanted attention. Due to the wrong of my direction, I had hurt one or many of my church friends* Here to apologies too~*

Knowing my mistakes of not following Christ, I turned back to Him and ask for His power and pray for helps. Thank God truly, He saved me from my grave mistake, and through this I had known. What it is to change the relationship in the bonding? Simply love. It is His love that makes me come to know more about the almighty God. Everything we do is about love, for example the reason we lie is because we wanted to hide those ugly side from the others so that we can gain the love from them. Thank God again that I had learnt the right way to love which is not to sin. Sinning will only make us even harder to earn love from others.

In conclusion, I really love God and through servicing Him, I had known more about Him and my purpose in life. So brothers and sisters let me share with you this, do not be afraid in servicing and do not be like me(TONY) walking my silly path, haha, choose to walk with Christ closely because He will guide you and save you from making mistakes in your life. How to do that?? It is by looking at Him always, through study His word and a healthy prayer life.

Hope you guys will enjoy this life walking with the ALMIGHTY =]

Life Concert 2010
Friday, April 2, 2010
it seems to be a long time since i last posted anything, both here and at my own blog, which is pretty dead if any of you have been visiting.
anyway, life concert is an annual concert held by my school in collaboration with Good Friday and Easter. so you have guessed it right if you are wondering if it has anything to do with these 2 festive days. it's actually like our concert held on 6th feb, only its on a larger scale, something like what you would see in city harvest i guess, to spread God's love via a platform where youths would be attracted to.
this year's theme is on LOSTFOUND. do you find yourself indulging too much on earthly desires that you find that your relationship with God is detoriating? do you submerge yourself in the sea of shopping, technology or even friends? if so, you might need a GPS, God Positioning System, to find your way back to him.
indeed, with A levels coming up in 8months time, i really find myself caught up in my studies, cca and even church ministry. people always tell me to cut down on my church ministry for the time being because studies should by my top priority for the time being (it should be every student's). yes i will. in fact i have already stopped choir, coming down from my EXCO position in june, or at least find a temporary replacement if nobody wants take up seriously for the next term, and i might even request to stop leading worship and children from june onwards! but this does not mean that studies should take up ALL my time.
i still need to spend time to read God's words. the busier i get, i should actually refer back to God even more in case i get LOST and let Satan triumphs. i guess i am FOUND in this way.
yesterday's songs really touched me. i used to find it weird to sing with your hands raised up in the air and pray suddenly. it WOULD feel weird if those did not happen last night.
don't worry, i am not turning charismatic nor did i speak in some random tongue. it just seems that when i sang, it felt weird if my hands were put in Sedia or Senang diri position (jeff or those who went for NS should know what i mean).
hand gestures, in my opinion, comes kinda natural if you really indulge yourselves in those songs, just like how those artistes showed it on stage. then when i prayed, i just made a silent prayer in response to those songs that really touched my heart. was it God talking to me last night? telling me to go back to Him? probably.
now let us not dwell so much on the highly debatable worship style that is so different from our usual ones. it was a concert after all and seriously, Love Turned A Page concert is so small and insignificant compared to that (even Rev Lee thought that the atmosphere was not HIGH enough).
however, let us not be discouraged for it was the best we could do during that time and thus we shall do a better one in the future. furthermore, our job is only to plant the seed in the hearts of unbelievers. it is ultimately up to God to nurture them and let them grow. if our concert was insignificant to Life Concert, then Life Concert is nothing compared to what God can do.

oops, i seem to have squeezed to many points in here and i have no idea how to end. GP is gone case!

let us go back LOSTFOUND shall we? so in conclusion, let us remember that God will never forsake nor forget us. remember how that shepherd left his 99 sheep to find that 1 LOST sheep? are you that 1 LOST sheep? God is calling out to you, let us return to Him.

Chris

ps: i dunno what you guys might think after reading this cos it does sound kinda new age...
