We (Gang Hiang, Karen and myself)had gone to the village church to attend a service on sunday, and had not even sang one complete song when we were told to take care of the children. Ha? expect the unexpected when going for mission trip. OK lah!, the room was small and crowded with children big and small ( 13+ to 2+). What an experience , tone deaf, can't sing me got to teach them sing 'Hallelujah, praise ye the lord' in Mandarin with various actions. Taught the bigger ones simple English. Boy! never wish that time past faster... and it was a relief when told that the service is ending soon. It was an experience in trusting God and being available for Him :)

Yes, it would be good if more of us can be part of the Missionary Team! Although the bad thing about this is that these trips always come at the wrong timing huh? Is either when we are rushing for exams or during our holidays which we will be aboard or smth? Quite pathetic to hear that anw. But then, still this is a good experience for each of us, no matter is spirtually or physically. So guys if u are free, please dun hesistate to sign up !!!

i am sure if you have read the prayer items everyday, you would have known that the church will be having further ministries in china especially Jiang Xi. so it would only be normal for the church to conduct more trips there.
but aunty gang hiang just shared with me that this might actually post a little bit of problem if we want more youths in joining. the main problem is the guys are mostly rather too old the youths down there. the second is the toilet. guys should be ok with it but girls may find them a bit too... i dunno what's the best description.
so from the sound of it, does any girl still interested in the future trips?

I agree with what Chris said, however we are just normal person sometime it is hard to resist the temtation.
I think that he is trying to share his own personal testimony then giving a surmon. Thanks Jeff and Esther, yout did a very good job for this blog. Chris u too.. i know that u did a lot of things to get us together such as msn group and then facebook. thanks for all ur effort.
Heman did a very good job for the library. it is good to read more books. Don't waste his effort. the library is a good place for us to rest as well.

sermon yesterday

did anybody catch what did brother han wanted to say yesterday? i admit that i could not understand at least half of it but thank God, i managed to catch the gist of it.
as the title says, it is a joy to obey God.
something like that right.
i still remembered his testimony saying that him being a korean doing ministry in a jap church was never easy due to the historical background. but because he obeyed God, he to help out there and i am sure he would have done a great job.
you see, many a times, i know it is difficult when you are being passed a job or sing to lead which you do not like in church. but it is a form of service to God. why is it that we find it hard to just follow by the book and just do it good, not for you, not for me, but for God.
you may say it really its difficult. yes it is, it was difficult for Jesus to die on the cross as well. Jesus said on Gethsamane:'My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as i will but as you will.'
even Jesus was able to obey fully to do something that meant death! what more to us when it meant only going against our little so called principle that seemed so small as compared to glorifying God's name?
don't take it too personal, i am not reprimanding anybody but just let it be a reminder. do comment especially if you think it sounds harsh...

Congratulations to Rita! She had a new-born baby boy--Matthew(The cute baby on the left)! I found Matthew's pic on Facebook.
